Village Center Feasibility Study

This study was made to determine how local zoning changes might positively affect a site within a village center. The concept aimed to restore some of the previously disturbed section within a River Resource area to a more pristine state, while creating pedestrian and bike connections along the river. This study also considered how a new mixed use development could benefit from river views and connecting paths that bring activity to the site. The preliminary concept also created village-scale housing (“Pocket Neighborhoods”) within the mixed-use context, with small homes surrounding a shared green space and parking screened to the back. Ideally these clusters would serve the housing needs of young professionals, families, seniors and business owners.
